Home Cooked Meals

Sunday, April 17th, 2011

was lunch today. Today was dissapointing though. The gammon did not taste like gammon. Their veggies and roast potatoes weren’t that great. I had baby marrow and carrots. The other choices were peas and cabbage, yuck.  Hubby says it’s because we got there so late, but I thought 12:30pm is lunch time, how could we have missed the best already?

Last time was very yummy though and at R40 a pop we will give them another try another day earlier.

There are people in your life

who should not be there…

Overview

You are on better terms with your unconscious mind than most people, but on a day like today, you wish it didn’t have such easy access. Weird feelings and ideas keep surfacing, and at least one of them is a winner.

Be careful not to give things more power than they deserve today. If you can keep things in their proper perspective, you’ll have no problem enjoying your day while others get overwhelmed by drama. The tiny issues popping up in your life are just like the tiny gnats that buzz around your head: Definitely annoying, but ultimately harmless. Just don’t fret about any small complications — they are not yours to worry about! Instead, focus on future plans and ideas.

…begins! And what took me sooooo darn long anyways? We ALL eat and we ALL travel and we ALL enjoy both! Especially me (us)!

We have travelled rather extensively, well I think so. I cannot believe that I let all those travels go by without blogging about it. I had wanted to start a totally separate blog for it but thought oh bugger where on earth am I gonna get time to attend to yet another blog, it’s enough keeping this one up to date and posting pics onto facebook and uploading onto our personal photo gallery.

So here we are after 120 000km’s in our trusted stallion….or rather colt, only now starting to document our travels.

The tum tum critic will tell you more about yummy foods and whether it’s genuinely thumbs up or down.

So vroom vroom and ching ching….off we go!

Someone like you…

…Cathy Kelly

I chose this book for its “fresh” looking cover. I’m very much into the visual appearance of a book and I am yet to be dissapointed. I guess the title and catch phrase also had something to do with it. Touched me I recon.

Someone like you…three women…three wishes! someone_like_you

Very intriguing isn’t it? Who wouldn’t want to find out what the three wishes are?

It gripped me from the moment I opened page one. Which I must say does not happen very often, unfortunately. Some authors really do need to concentrate on the most important five minute first impression.

Three girls who don’t know each other happen to meet on holiday. Three girls going through different stages of normal life. Three girls with different reasons for being on this far away trip. They click and make a promise to stay in touch and celebrate the anniversary of their meeting. They manage to keep their promise and help each other through difficult times in their lives. They share, laugh, fight and make up.

It is such a beautiful story. It is so real. You feel yourself drawn into their stories, like fly on the wall kinda stuff. You laugh and cry with them.

I can’t wait to read this author’s other long list of published books.

The A-Team

Sunday, April 17th, 2011

posterMy childhood all time favourite! I grew up absolutely loving this series. I even collected figurines and books and cards, ag whatever had anything to do with the A-Team. I still have some of the stuff in mint condition. That tune brings back so many memories. Eish, what a way to be taken back to watch the re-adaptation of the legends.

This movie does not dissapoint hard core fans. Each character actor was so well chosen. The look. The talk. The moves. The storyline is brilliant. In one movie they summed up such a great story to show the impact this incredible team had. There are funny bits…now wait…hilarious. There are philosophical moments, dear Hannibal’s role naturally creates that. There is pounds of action and special effects. There’s some eye candy for guys and gals. There’s love and loss. Pow, there’s a twist or two.

Can you tell I’m blown away? I absolutely enjoyed this movie so very much. I almost wanted to race home and go watch it with my Dad while sitting on the floor playing with my figurines.

The only crit I would dare have is that being a 2010 movie there’s one or two action scenes which lacked seemless cgi graphics. But I will gladly overlook that. Go get it…especially if you’re a fan!
