Handbag…

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

…that actually lasts would be my wish! I seem to have no luck with bags under R300! So I’m on a mission to find a bag that doesn’t break the bank, holds ALL my stuff, is functional and sexy and goes with EVERYTHING!!!

207971_10150157876231922_720596921_7294204_4298734_n (1)I came across this awesome concept while browsing through a online buddy’s blog and found her list of favourite blogs. This stunning australian hot mamma has this funky blog and one of her regular posts is Ms Fancy Pants where she showcases what she is wearing, why she is wearing it, where she bought it and where she is headed out. I love the idea and so I’m going to try recreate it, although I’m no where near as photogenic.

One of her sub-categories is Go-To Outfit and I actually have a recent photo. I’m a jeans girl. If I was shorter, I so wish sometimes, I would wear them with heals. I love the actress Lisa Rinna look – jeans, heels, funky shirt and big belt and handbag. Actually I took it step further a few years back and actually did her hair style too but that’s for another post….

This outfit was chosen to spend a chilly night out with hubby on the beach for our date night. I have a large collection of funky cartoon shirts, which I absolutely adore, and this one featured here is my latest addition and my absolute favourite! Well until I find another one…

Over the years I’ve also gone through about 4 pairs of mock ugg boots and when I saw these funky coloured ceres pink reddish colour I just couldn’t help myself, they are gorgeous. Matched my shirt to the tee.

Jeans…shamefully are almost 7years old. Thankfully I fit into them once again. LOL!

Let’s talk moola, if I remember correctly – boots R100, jeans R100, shirt R120! I like it cheap and awesome!!!!

Egg Poacher

973Oh my gosh what a wonderful little device. I absolutely love eggs benedict and have tried to recreate it at home. I did online research and found a trick using a cup and cling film, but it took so much effort.

Then on a recent trip to the grocery store I happened to wander through the kitchen stuff and this nifty little utensil jumped out at me. At R90.00 it was rather a decision to make to warrant whether poached eggs were a luxury or a need. Need won over luxury and the purchase was made.

The first test run was made on a trip away from home and I made the mistake of not reading the instructions. Who would have thought that you would need to but apparently after fifteen minutes and not seeing much happening I pulled out the instruction manual and realised ta-dah you needed to place a lid over the device which was nestling in 3cm boiling water. After doing that it went so quickly and it really came out beautifully.

I would really recommend adding this small device to your kitchen.

Kung Fu Panda

kung-fu-panda-poster-2

Again I cannot get enough of animations. This cute little story is very funny.

Imagine a giant panda as the star of the show …. now imagine him pulling kung fu moves even doing the splits. His co stars are just as funny. The littlest character is a mere Praying Mantis.

Very well written storyline will have you in stitches laughing out loud.

We saw this movie a while back but recently bought the dvd when we saw the sequel is about to be released. We are so excited and cannot wait to see #2.  So go on go get the first one before the second one is launched late May.

I love love LOVE animations!

And this one we’ve now enjoyed THREE times over! It’s brilliant. I love the characters. I love the humour. I love the graphics. I love the storyline.

It’s so darn cute. I don’t care how old you are, you must watch them all. I hope they do yet another one.

Some seqeuls lose their flavour, but I think they did a pretty good job of this.
