Doggy Days…

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

…where we take one of our pack on an outing for a day, especially Sundays. Kodi we’ve taken to the beach stalls already and he was a model citizen and absolute star. But he’s always been so obedient and all over friendly, when he’s on his own…it appears he feels the need to protect when the others are around.

This past Sunday it was Mitsu’s turn. Our first stop was St George’s Park and it was wonderfully cool amongst the lush garden. It was rather hilarious though to see her get a massive fright for a huge scary leaf blowing gently. We sat next to the leaf for about 5 minutes before she came closer to inspect. We hadn’t realised actually how deprived she was of different scenarios. Then we saw Art in the Park had started and walked through the stalls. She was great with all the people passing by and got so many comments we lost count. Then while we were looking at books she started bolting around hair raised and upon investigating what on earth we spot a toy tiger on a stand. So Chris went and sat by the toy and got her to go closer on her own. So many people stopped us and asked us about her and her breed type. We had just thought Husky of course but on multiple occasions so called experts :) said no ways there must be a cross with this or that! Even people who didn’t have the decency to stop and talk to us we could hear mumbling away at her breed type, it was actually so funny.

Bentley Update

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

It’s been quite a while I see since I’ve done an update on Mr Bentley! Things have been going real well and there hasn’t been too much to report on. He is still eating well. Still healing well. His coat has just about covered all those horrendous scars. The hair falling out issue rectified itself within days and his coat is now smooth and shiny and thick. He is so enjoying his daily walks and cries tremendously when we take the others before him.

When The Boys are away…by Sarah Webb

In the end I can say wow what a great book but it was a little tough for me to get into at the beginning. I felt like I was slowly gnawing away at it when I first started. But the then book took an interesting twist at which point I couldn’t put it down.

It’s about a young woman with two children, with two daddies. One who wants to take advantage and come back, the other who sails away for many months for a living. The story is about how she has to cope with two children the house and everything else. A dear friend neighbour who is her anchor I think who has her own sad story to tell. How she fights for a better life and in the end gets to know what she wants and life looks promising.

Very sweet story. One can relate to some parts which is the point where you see yourself become the character. I was sad when it ended as I felt there was so much more to tell….

Knight and Day

Was thrilled to see this accompany our movie night….actually we have movie night(S) but nonetheless was excited to see this dvd box. Had seen Oprah do her thing interviewing the main actors and showing some footage and then already it looked pretty good. During the action scenes; of which there were many; I had wished we had caught it at the cinema. The stunts and action scenes were great. The story line is a tad cliche but with some twists which make up for it big time. It was real cool to have some comic scenes too for a good ‘ol laugh.

In short a ditsy blonde mechanic (for a lack of a better word) bumps into (literally) a rogue spy and gets caught up in the mission to eliminate said spy….the twist comes in when roles are reversed and you’re in for a ride for a whole set of action again.

Well worth checking out!

nochild…is the heading that caught my eye immediately when I opened my facebook updates! I opened the LINK and was engulfed in this woman’s writing skill. How cleverly she wrote not to offend those who are so easily offended. I read every single word carefully and was gobsmacked to see my thoughts appearing online. Was this woman in my head or were my thoughts so public or am I part of this exclusive secret clan?
